EXCERPT: Inspired By You

We’re FOUR days away from the release of Inspired By You (Love in the City, #6)! I hope you’re as excited as I am! In celebration of the upcoming release, I’ve decided to share an excerpt of the story just for you! This snippet is from Whitley and her son, Zane! I had so much fun including a younger character in the story. Zane adds an innocence to the fun, lightheartedness you’ve come to expect from the Love in the City characters! Enjoy!

He entered his room with his back to me, rubbing his tired eyes. “I hope he calls you.”

What. Did. He. Just. Say?

It was late, so for a moment I thought I misheard him. Leaning against his doorjamb, I eyed him suspiciously. “What did you just say?”

He jumped up on his bed and pulled the covers down. “I said, ‘I hope Max calls you.’”

What’s he up to? I crossed my arms over my chest. “I doubt that will happen, bud. He doesn’t have my number.”

“Yes, he does,” he retorted truthfully, resting back against his pillows. “I gave it to him when he asked me for it.”

Gah! I’m going to kill Max Waters!

“He asked you for my phone number?” I asked, completely shocked that Max would go to such lengths to get my phone number.

“Yeah,” Zane said with a shrug. “He said he would ask you out on a date.”

So, this is what it feels like to be pimped out by your child?

Utterly embarrassing!

Part of me wished the wood flooring would open up and swallow me whole, but that’d leave Zane parentless and I couldn’t do that to him. He had no idea what he’d done tonight would embarrass me. He didn’t fully understand the concept of embarrassment yet, but I was definitely saving this moment in my brain to remember when he started dating. I’d get out every cute, naked baby picture of him I owned.

Inspired By You: Coming Soon

Yes, you read that title right! Inspired By You (Love in the City, #6) is releasing on May 10th, 2018! I’m so excited for you all to read Max and Whitley’s story! A single mom and the world’s Sexiest Man Alive. I love a great single parent story, and Whitley’s is so inspiring. As for Max, I think his story is the perfect redemption from when we first met him in Fantasized By You.

Fame made him selfish.

Hollywood heartthrob, Maxton Waters, has just been named the World’s Sexiest Man Alive. Women fantasize about him. Men want to be him. The paparazzi continuously follow him. His ego is definitely larger than his heart.

Poverty made her grateful.

Whitley Gonzalez has made a life for herself after growing up in and out of homeless shelters. Now a hardworking nurse, she spends her spare time raising her son alone and giving back to the community that helped raise her.

But when Max is sentenced to hours of community services and placed under the single mom’s thumb, working together proves harder than they ever expected, inspiring an unlikely love in the city.
